Travelodge London Central Southwark

Great location for central London, we walked back from Leicester Square and it took 40 minutes, a great way to see and explore. We also took the tube and this was super easy as well, Southwark station 3 minutes walk to hotel. Keep walking past the hotel towards Borough Market which is 15 minutes walk. Vibrant area, would definitely book here again, we had a great view of The Shard, and overlooking numerous railway tracks, but they didn’t bother us although we could hear them occasionally. We were on the 6th floor. Staff were super friendly and very helpful, looked after our cases after we checked out. Very welcome air conditioning/heating in room

Good location close to Southwark tube station. I’ve stayed a couple of times and the rooms are always clean and a decent size. My most recent room overlooked the railway which made a little noise, but nothing that decent earplugs couldn’t handle.

The hotel room was clean and tidy with great views of the shard. The reception team were kind and helpful. Trains could easily be heard from inside the hotel but that was to be expected given the location. Overall the hotel was definitely worth the money and I would visit again.

This is good value for money hotel in a convenient location for Southbank and Borough Market. There is a great pub opposite, best burgers in town!!! Also there is a convenience store below the hotel, great for bottled water and snacks for the room. Be aware though there is continual noise from the train lines next to the hotel, if you're a light sleeper take earplugs.

Location is near the southwark station. A short walk. In fact, if you are a keen walker, you can walk to quite a number of tourist sites, crossing the various bridges nearby. Borough mkt, Shakespeare dome, Southbank, national theatre, blackfriars bridge, and embankment are all walking distance. The rooms are reasonable sized. Beds are comfy. The bathroom seems to need upgrading. The exhaust doesn’t work. The whole bathroom is fogged up. Windows cannot be opened hence a sense of muskiness felt. The dining room for breakfast is quite big, food is average. But for the price it’s ok. The best food for me was the fruit bowl. Oh, there are 2 elevator lifts, if you have many/heavy luggages. Uber can come right up to the entrance if heading to/from the airport.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was OK but no plug sockets near the bed. They did provide an extention lead which still wasn't enough due to weird room shape. The toilet was fitted poorly and was very mobile. The bed creaked quite a lot and looked ready to collapse on bent legs. Other than that, the room was clean and tidy.

I had an incredible stay at this hotel! The location is perfect—within easy walking distance to all the major tourist spots, which made sightseeing a breeze. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, but I want to give a special shout-out to the manager, Bhanu and the head staff leader Nathan. They were exceptionally accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great service in a prime location. Great for families.

Seeing the negative reviews before my stay had me anxious but it was fine. A typical traveloge. Our room was clean, renovated within the last few years I'd say and did not smell of damp like others mention. I do prefer hotels with windows that can open to properly air, but no issues with this one. Paid the £3.50 extra for a room by the road rather than railway and couldn't hear a thing. Aircon was surprisingly good, and ideally placed next to the bed. Ideal if like me get roasting after drinking and helped a good night's sleep. Would stay back at the right price, it has its place for a budget stay and so close to Southwark tube.
